tiny update

ARCHER made his debut when I was about 41 weeks pregnant. This go, we took our cues from nature, no drugs. The birth story is brief, full of pain and intense joy. We went to my dad's in the morning for breakfast, crossing our fingers I would have the baby soon. I had felt painless cramping a few times early that morning, so I was hopeful. Will and I left Graham at my dad's and went to the birthing center, just to get checked out. The midwife told me I was 5 centimeters dilated and to go have a walk around the park. Will and I were walking and talking, I started having noticeable contractions! By 1:30 we were inside, the pain had arrived. It hurt more than I had ever fathomed, but by 2:45 we were holding our new son.   He was healthy, beautiful and we were thrilled. Less than an hour later, I felt great and we got to show him off to some family that had gathered to meet him. We were home by 7pm and ordering Thai food.   :)

39 weeks and counting!

really 36.5

i almost didn't take a pic at all this week. i've been exhausted. i AM however, going to make my husband take proper pictures this weekend. or at least pics with a proper camera. texas heat is no place for a pregnant woman! i have a 2 year old to entertain, no pool access and my legs are weak after about 30 min. of shuffling. that said, i am in good spirits and so eager to meet this kiddo. everyday is over 100 degrees and graham and i are both so stir crazy. alas, the baby and cooler weather will be here before we know...right? the thought of waiting another month to give birth makes me a bit nuts.  :)

thank you ladies

my girlfriends threw an incredible party, celebrating the newest little one, still baking in the oven. i could have sat around with those girls all night. every person there is dear to me and thanks to them i laughed for hours. thank you, thank you, for the indulgent afternoon!

birthday wishes

my 35th year is off to an amazing start thanks to my husband. he took us to the lake for a night and the three of us couldn't have had a better time. we can't wait to meet the newest addition to the family, but it was nice having a little holiday, just the three of us. speaking of my belly tenant...july in texas and 8 months pregnant is not ideal. i can't wait to not be preggers anymore!!! i'm counting the days, the hot, hot days.

another month gone

another grainy photograph. oh well, the belly is growing, good pics or not. here we are in july, next month is sure to bring us baby! we have started to narrow down the girl names. boy name chosen. i wonder if we're having a boy or girl???

i would write more, but i'm off to get what i want and need...tacos.   :)

i finally bought something for the one in my tummy! i think i am going to be forced to buy a matching tee for graham. the 100 degree days are here and i'm going to be a bit uncomfortable in them to say the least. that said, the next 8-10 weeks will be filled with friends, family and a bit of swimming, nice. i'm also switching from my doctor and the hospital to the birthing center, better late then never!

no surprise that amanda jane featured this awesome couple. it's funny how small the internet world can be. how is it i recognize half of her featured couples. anyway, it's a sweet post and it's true, the gal from katie's pencil box has the most kick ass wardrobe.

thank you for the fathering

Will's dad is wonderful, my dad is wonderful(and still teaching me to this day) and now my husband is a wonderful father. i fully appreciate how lucky graham and i am are. now, with two years work experience under his belt, Will's going to be fathering some more!

you're the most loving man i've ever met, thank you, thank you, thank you for keeping us rich in cuddle puddles.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRAHAM!

we had the best birthday weekend! graham, as of yesterday, is officially two! on sat. we had a family party filled with cold drinks, bbq and carrot cake cupcakes. monday, my husband took off work and we popped into the dallas world aquarium. all three of us were like kids in a candy store! we all agreed the otters and manatees were the coolest. graham was tinkled pink by the squawk of the flamingos, but for some reason Will was m.i.a. while graham and i enjoyed flamingos (he hates them, hahaha). the rest of the day was spent playing with new toys and recreating saturday's candle bow out. all in all, a weekend spent adoring our little guy and realizing how lucky we are.

3rd trimester...begins

that's it folks! i am making my husband take the next belly pics. these are SO fuzzy! these are not the pics of me pregnant i want to look back on in 30 years. but, here it is, the belly, three months to go.


i have not been able to sit on the computer much these days. toddler days are keeping me moving. graham started his swim lessons last weekend and it was fantastic. the three of us will be going every sat. this month. this sat. we will not only be hitting the pool, but also celebrating graham's second birthday!

etsy summer stock

swooning over things on etsy as per usual, me stuff, graham stuff and baby stuff. but, here are a few summer picks i thought i would share. i might have to grab this blouse, even though it won't fit me until next summer. one two three

good grief! one month until graham's 2nd birthday party! i need to figure out some delicious fun food and some simple decoration ideas. by the time the day is here, it will be hotter and i will be bigger, so something easy as pie. mmmmm...pie.

four weeks later...

well, another fuzzy photo for the scrap book! i AM going to get a couple pics of me before this baby comes. this is my last chance for cute preggers pics!!! the baby is kicking about, trying to find comfy spots throughout the day. i've been pretty tired and getting nervous about the heat of a texas summer. that said, i feel good. we are beginning to get excited over here! my husband and i are no where near agreeing on a girl name, but if it's a boy, we're set!

May is here kicking and screaming!

Can you guess who is doing the kicking and who is doing the screaming...? graham is going to be 2 in a matter of weeks! these two years have been utterly amazing. our little boy is just that, a little boy. no more chubby cooing baby. he has full on discussions with us, bruises and tantrums! his toddler days are upon us and we're ready. it's really is so sad watching and listening to a full on tantrum. hopefully, the days of throwing fits of frustration don't last too long. that said, he is SO fun. my husband and i can't get enough hanging out with this kid, we're so in love. the one doing the kicking is someone we've never met and with no name, a tiny stranger inside my belly. i'm 23 weeks along now and starting to take note of the magic of it all. this is our last one, so these pregnancy milestones are to be savored and enjoyed. this is the last time that i'll feel kicks for the first time. does that make sense? there is a small part of me that want this over with, but overall i am adoring it all. there is this beauty that comes along with being pregnant, a strength. once it's over it's gone. there's certainly beauty in motherhood, but it's not the same, as the fleeting innocence of pregnancy. i am, of course, rambling. all i wanted to say is that the baby is kicking and graham is freaking awesome. :)

nice 'n neutral

summer parties usually make me think of bright colors. in fact, i'm a big fan of them. but here's an alternative, a nice neutral. the muted palette is so calm, a nice cool down during the hot months ahead. of course i spotted a heart garland. i realize i'm slightly obsessed with garlands/bunting. this one you could use for any occasion, which i love as well. if you are throwing a party anytime soon, check out this bridal shower over at my cakies. simply gorgeous and simply simple. she can really do no wrong. this shop has sweet baby shower invitations, i featured the owl. (they're a little pricy considering i've never kept anyone's baby shower invite ever) but, i couldn't resist popping them on here for the sake of beauty. enjoy!
