nice 'n neutral

summer parties usually make me think of bright colors. in fact, i'm a big fan of them. but here's an alternative, a nice neutral. the muted palette is so calm, a nice cool down during the hot months ahead. of course i spotted a heart garland. i realize i'm slightly obsessed with garlands/bunting. this one you could use for any occasion, which i love as well. if you are throwing a party anytime soon, check out this bridal shower over at my cakies. simply gorgeous and simply simple. she can really do no wrong. this shop has sweet baby shower invitations, i featured the owl. (they're a little pricy considering i've never kept anyone's baby shower invite ever) but, i couldn't resist popping them on here for the sake of beauty. enjoy!

ma'mood

when i looked at my etsy watch list this morning i noticed a theme. i have never been a "gold" person, never. now, all i am attracted to is gold and pink! this wedding shoot by bowsandarrows is looking lovely.

a birthday or wedding during the upcoming summer months would be an awesome opportunity to try a paleta from the cold ones cooler! local business, local ingredients, fantastical flavors! i've seen these recipes mentioned banana caramel, plum tamarind, 5-spice mango, root beer float, chocolate-ancho-cinnamon, corn-blackberry-honey, orange-vanilla bean, salted butter caramel, pear-tamarind and apple-ginger. i've even read they make yummy cocktail inspired popsicle as well. anyway, food for thought. it's the unseasonably warm weather today stirring up the summer in me.

some pop!

these two kid rooms have me smiling. i am so in love with the pom poms and other suspended goodies. the clusters add such a fun touch and so easy on the eyes. a wonderful way to feature color. the storage under the window in room #1 is an idea i will for sure mimic in graham's room. the gray walls in room #2, are fantastic. they remind me of a cloudy day and how the gray skies make the green grass and trees pop!

i will never stop looking at wedding blogs. they offer up so many fantastic images! They have everything, gorgeous flowers, clothing and food! What more could you ask for? it doesn't matter to me if it's at city hall or in a barn built in 30s, with the right details sprinkled on top, perfect! i spotted these photos on ruffled, stylemepretty and bowsandarrows
the bouquets and shoes in the first photo, made me smile. i love the bright colors from the bows and arrows photo shoot. this california wedding had endless metionables. the heart shaped cookies and the cake were simple a charming touches. take a look, enjoy!

man, i'm a softy! i watched the wedding video of this couple on stylemepretty and it got me. i wish we had done a video. hopefully, we have many sweet moments left to capture. maybe even a party with a photobooth? well, we'll see. for sure one of these days i want professional pictures of the three of us. oh, i mean, four. sorry huckleberry!

palette pleasing

i had chosen a couple to colors to run with for graham's birthday party originally. without many resources, mainly money and the crafting skills, the look seemed dull. i remembered the wedding shoot on bowsandarrows and was instantly recharged. bright and fun sounded better suited for his first birthday. it's nothing really, just the basics, but i am as excited as it gets. i will no doubt flood flickr with pictures on monday morning! this has been such an incredible year. one of these days i will share some of what i've learned!

gimme gimme pretty

well, we are off to atlanta tomorrow! the boys and i are going to visit cyndi and eat everything atl has to offer. i was hoping it to be a weekend full of pictures of me and cyndi and me and my husband. dunno now about heavy picture taking, but i'll be sure to get a few!!! i can not wait to see cyndi AND go on this adventure with my family.
