birthday wishes

my 35th year is off to an amazing start thanks to my husband. he took us to the lake for a night and the three of us couldn't have had a better time. we can't wait to meet the newest addition to the family, but it was nice having a little holiday, just the three of us. speaking of my belly tenant...july in texas and 8 months pregnant is not ideal. i can't wait to not be preggers anymore!!! i'm counting the days, the hot, hot days.

thank you for the fathering

Will's dad is wonderful, my dad is wonderful(and still teaching me to this day) and now my husband is a wonderful father. i fully appreciate how lucky graham and i am are. now, with two years work experience under his belt, Will's going to be fathering some more!

you're the most loving man i've ever met, thank you, thank you, thank you for keeping us rich in cuddle puddles.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRAHAM!

we had the best birthday weekend! graham, as of yesterday, is officially two! on sat. we had a family party filled with cold drinks, bbq and carrot cake cupcakes. monday, my husband took off work and we popped into the dallas world aquarium. all three of us were like kids in a candy store! we all agreed the otters and manatees were the coolest. graham was tinkled pink by the squawk of the flamingos, but for some reason Will was m.i.a. while graham and i enjoyed flamingos (he hates them, hahaha). the rest of the day was spent playing with new toys and recreating saturday's candle bow out. all in all, a weekend spent adoring our little guy and realizing how lucky we are.

miss james gives me so much inspiration when it comes to feeding her toddler. i am always trying to keep notes to find new graham favorites! she does a recurring post named "bird food", love it. bleubird


check out nikole of herriott grace's space. under 400sqft and i'm loving every inch of it. the new issue of covet garden has it all! the article on nikole is great and she included a yummy donut recipe. i've always had a thing for her cloud cookie cutters and cake flags, but hearing about her work, long distance with her dad is heart warming.

the guilt of wasting waster has subsided. the shower that turned into a bath was so much fun. if there had been any cars in the tub, i don't know if we could have gotten him out!

must haves, for my toddler!

graham is for sure into cars and trains, the normal boy fare. he loves to draw and color. he LOVES being outside and all that it entails. there are a few things i have noticed that have been around since his first birthday and that are likely to be around on his second. his tilty cups are awesome, i love them. we also use safe sippy's, but i loathe cleaning them. the rubber casing has to be removed for cleaning or it will rust the canteen. not my favorite thing to take off and put on again, but they are wonderful in every other way. that ironman has been a wise purchase too. we got a barely used one on craigslist and it has not disappointed us one bit. but, the most important on the list is shaun. my son is a nerd for nick park. first he fell for shaun the sheep, then timmy time, now wallace and gromit. what can i say, i think it's cute.

my little gardener

spring is here and we are taking advantage! graham helping with the planting was the sweetest thing i've seen yet. this is our first garden, so we're all learning as we go. no matter if the kale begins to flourish or the romaine never sees a plate, we are all together. graham will get to see how food is born!

18 month check up!

graham caught a cold from his cousin on the 23rd, we all had it by the 25th. we are all on the road to recovery! the three of us went to the doctor this morning for graham's 18 month check up. the news...ear infections! poor guy. hopefully, he will be feeling 100% oh so soon. other than that, he is perfect. 33 inches tall! i am relieved he is on the mend and happy. it wasn't the most pleasant christmas because we were all sick, but it was full of snuggling. we are ready for a new year!

halloween a success! now we are gearing up for pumpkin pie and everything that autumn brings.

the latest and greatest, a graham update!

graham is two weeks shy of being 17 months old! we are having the best time. what an awesome age/stage this is! he is running around and exploring all day. when he does take a break he watches shaunthesheep or asks me to read children make terrible pets. when the latter happens, he will grab the book he wants, hand it to you and sit in your lap. (heart melting) recently he discovered cous cous and is in love. we'll see how long it lasts! at least every other day he "juices". makes him sound intense, right? i juice sweet potatoes, kale and an apple and mix it with infant oatmeal, delicious. sometimes i substitute kale for spinach or toss in a beet, but he loves it all. he's just always been a sucker for sweet potato! he "says" dada, moo, knock knock, night night and a few other sounds that mimic words. he is so awesome and the three of us couldn't be more in love. we are so thankful every day for our health and situation.


one of these days when he's 3 or 4 and my husband schedules camping trips for us every other weekend i'm going to get match matchy with graham. hahahaaa, the power of being the adult! team wellie, in green?

he is getting so big! he loves shaun the sheep, reading and will give us hugs and kisses! what more can you ask for?

labor day weekend well spent

we walked up to the park by our house monday. it was SO much fun! graham got on everything the park has to offer and we took 1,000 pictures to make sure we could remember every moment. here's three. what a difference gorgeous weather makes!

growing graham

it's been so magical to watch this little one learn and grow. he is 14 months old and quite accomplished already! the 7th month was an introduction to solid foods. the 8th, sitting up. the 10th month, crawling. the 11, my favorite, weaning!!! not to mention at 11 months old he also started sleeping in his own bed, yipee! a few weeks after his first birthday he began walking. somewhere in all this he sprouted four teeth. july and august have brought lots of "talking". we can sort of make out the words bath and da-da. he loves seeing his daddy get home from work, sweet potatoes, books, graham crackers, a bit of "yo gabba gabba" and a nice nap. just thought i would give a graham update! he will be doing a guest post pretty soon about the toys and books he's loved and all the ones he has his eye on!
