nice 'n neutral
summer parties usually make me think of bright colors. in fact, i'm a big fan of them. but here's an alternative, a nice neutral. the muted palette is so calm, a nice cool down during the hot months ahead. of course i spotted a heart garland. i realize i'm slightly obsessed with garlands/bunting. this one you could use for any occasion, which i love as well. if you are throwing a party anytime soon, check out this bridal shower over at my cakies. simply gorgeous and simply simple. she can really do no wrong. this shop has sweet baby shower invitations, i featured the owl. (they're a little pricy considering i've never kept anyone's baby shower invite ever) but, i couldn't resist popping them on here for the sake of beauty. enjoy!

make room for baby
the new baby will sleep in our room for quite a bit. late night feeding are way more appealing from the comfort of our bed. that said, the two little ones are indeed going to share a room. meaning...it must get a few updates, a bit of sprucing up! these sweet crochet are on my list of maybe. i am attracted to the circular shape and the texture. etsy of course.

some links to love!
these posts make me even more in love with love! the fantastic couple over on amandajane , decided to feature other couples they admire. the posts are short and oh so sweet. they always make me wonder what three sentences my husband would use to describe me...
check out the blog and search "my better half" for all of the cute!
cool idea for a vintage book photo album! carlykmyta
i'm a little obsessed right now with family photos and these aren't helping! rockstardiaries AND pencilbaox
miss james gives me so much inspiration when it comes to feeding her toddler. i am always trying to keep notes to find new graham favorites! she does a recurring post named "bird food", love it. bleubird
check out nikole of herriott grace's space. under 400sqft and i'm loving every inch of it. the new issue of covet garden has it all! the article on nikole is great and she included a yummy donut recipe. i've always had a thing for her cloud cookie cutters and cake flags, but hearing about her work, long distance with her dad is heart warming.

colette bream dreams in shades of simple
i've had these handmade "star" pillows on my etsy wishlist for a bit now, they are the sweetest. the other day i noticed their creator a featured seller on the etsy site. so i read her story and it put a smile on a face. read how the birth of her child inspired her or just check out her shop! the bedding looks like it could transform your toddler's bed into a cloud!

zara has so many cute and decently priced girl stuff! the sizes range from 3 months to 3 years. these are my favorites.
is it wrong to want to steal from children? i mean, they get everything!!! haha, i'll be on the lookout for scalloped collars and polka dots for me too!

must haves, for my toddler!
graham is for sure into cars and trains, the normal boy fare. he loves to draw and color. he LOVES being outside and all that it entails. there are a few things i have noticed that have been around since his first birthday and that are likely to be around on his second. his tilty cups are awesome, i love them. we also use safe sippy's, but i loathe cleaning them. the rubber casing has to be removed for cleaning or it will rust the canteen. not my favorite thing to take off and put on again, but they are wonderful in every other way. that ironman has been a wise purchase too. we got a barely used one on craigslist and it has not disappointed us one bit. but, the most important on the list is shaun. my son is a nerd for nick park. first he fell for shaun the sheep, then timmy time, now wallace and gromit. what can i say, i think it's cute.

some unisex registry picks!
americanapparel
ergo
amazon
i've been fairly insistent this time around that we leave the child's sex a labor day discovery. we found out with graham and it was SO much fun to know! but, this is our last and i want a surprise. this pregnancy i have decided against pain medication. so if we're going natural, let's go natural! "think of it as retro", i keep telling my husband.
therefore, i am keeping the list of wants and needs short and neutral. one of the nice things about having children close together is you still have some of the "baby" stuff. but, i suppose i'll be revisiting some of my favorite baby items and looking for new ones! the carrier is a must and c'mon, that's a freaking cute rattle.
p.s. i think i could go a little nuts at american apparel

gift take two
i found today's loot in the same spots i ALWAYS find good loot. the super rad puzzle i spotted here. the bookends/planters/pin boards set, which is insanely cool, i found here. finally, the pocket knife, pretty swell stocking stuffer if you ask me, here. Enjoy! i am trying to find things for every person in every price range. i like to keep it low, because most people have other places their money needs to go. that said, a little gift can put a big smile on somebody's face. isn't that the coolest?

the latest and greatest, a graham update!
graham is two weeks shy of being 17 months old! we are having the best time. what an awesome age/stage this is! he is running around and exploring all day. when he does take a break he watches shaunthesheep or asks me to read children make terrible pets. when the latter happens, he will grab the book he wants, hand it to you and sit in your lap. (heart melting) recently he discovered cous cous and is in love. we'll see how long it lasts! at least every other day he "juices". makes him sound intense, right? i juice sweet potatoes, kale and an apple and mix it with infant oatmeal, delicious. sometimes i substitute kale for spinach or toss in a beet, but he loves it all. he's just always been a sucker for sweet potato! he "says" dada, moo, knock knock, night night and a few other sounds that mimic words. he is so awesome and the three of us couldn't be more in love. we are so thankful every day for our health and situation.
one of these days when he's 3 or 4 and my husband schedules camping trips for us every other weekend i'm going to get match matchy with graham. hahahaaa, the power of being the adult! team wellie, in green?
